We escaped the storms and managed to have a very impressive, competitive and successful first meet of the season! We were tied up most of the way through and it came down to a few more points in their favor from relays that got us.  Our final score was:

The meet results are attached.  When looking over them, a few things to keep in mind:

1. Only the top three swimmers from each team actually score points.  All times from all heats in each event are compiled to determine their overall places.  For relays, only the top two relays score points. If you see an X next to your swimmer's time, it still counts--just not towards points.

2. DQ's are how we learn, and improve.  We had an impressively low number of them for the first meet, and not having many practices....this always makes a coach smile!!

3. When discussing results with your swimmer--it is best in their development of how this works to focus more on the time they dropped than what place they came in.  If you can find a way to  keep focusing on that, instead of their finish, it tends to bring more motivation to keep dropping time...instead of just chasing that blue ribbon every time.  (it will also keep their eyes on setting their own personal goals!)

Our next meet is Monday, June 8th at Boerne City Pool.  Please have your RSVP completed by June 3rd in order to guarantee your child is entered in the meet!

We will NOT have practices on Saturday, June 6th.
