Rules Training for Stroke and Turn Judges

    Hi Team,

Below is information about upcoming trainings for this year's Stroke & Turn judges. As we mentioned at our parent meeting on 5/1, this is a very valuable volunteer position that allows you to have a front row seat at meets for a very minimal training. We are looking for a minimum of 12 stroke and turn judges, as we need to be prepared to provide 3-4 at each meet, home and away. The more we have trained, the fewer meets you will be needed to volunteer. Please consider giving a little bit of time to be trained so that we can provide these officials at our meets. No registration is necessary- just show up and tell them you are with the SV Sea Dragons. Thank you for your consideration!

Where: Jewish Community Center, 12500 NW Military Highway, Rooms 227/8/9

When: Saturday May 11, Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19.

Recertification sessions will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. New official training will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Returning Officials: Officials who were certified for the 2023 season must attend a recertification session to retain their certification for the 2024 season. If you are certified as Stroke and Turn or Starter and want to add another skill (Starter, Stroke and Turn or Referee), you are encouraged to stay and attend the appropriate new official training session.

New Officials: Volunteers who are training for a new officiating position need to attend a new official training session. At each clinic, there will be a session for Stroke and Turn training and another combined session for Referees, Starters, Coaches and Team Rep.
